UPES University (Distance & Online)
UPES is a UGC-recognized university that was established in 2003 by the Uttarakhand State Legislature under the UPES Act, 2003. At the undergraduate level, UPES provides specialized B.Tech, BBA, B.A, B.Des, LL.B courses, and at the postgraduate level, it offers M.Tech, MBA, M.A, LL.M programs.
The UPES campus in Dehradun, which is one of the most beautiful campuses in India, spans 44 acres and features world-class academic infrastructure, multimedia-enabled classrooms, modern research labs, playing fields, food courts, hostels, and other facilities for students' curricular and extracurricular activities.

Under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, UGC maintains and recognizes University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES).
The university has a global ranking QS system five star rating. By CEO Magazine, India's Best University for Energy Programs was ranked fourth in Asia and first in India. Membership in the International Association of Universities is held by the university.
Each program has a minimum and maximum time limit to compete, according to the requirements. A minimum of three years and a maximum of five years are required to finish an undergraduate program. A Post Graduate program can be completed in as little as two years and as much as four years.
Every year, the university has its convocation. All graduates from degree programs, whether they were pursued full-time, part-time, or through distance learning, are invited to the convocation event. Chief Guest presents medals to graduates of distant education programs; Head of CCE awards degrees and mark slips to the remaining students.
